Soil Temperatures

While in the garden Yesterday i decide to look at the soil temperatures the first ones are from yesterday 27/12/07 second one is from today 28/12/07


27/12/07
seed rasing mix in the shade was 27.5°C
Soil with out mulch was 30°C
Soil with mulch was 24.9°C
Compost was 40°C and rising but i can only meaure upto 50°C on it so i pulled it out when it was rising still
and it is 40.9°C outside
also got 3 eggs


28/12/07
Bed 1 unmuclhed 31°C
Bed 2 mulched 26°C
bed 3 mulched 26°C
bed 4 mulched 26°C
bed 5 mulched 24°C (under plants)
seeds 24°C (in the shade)

This past week we have had 24.5ml of rain while i was a way on hoilday and 27 eggs so far this month that isnt including broken ones 10 eggs while i was away.

Autumm/ Winter Plants

While i was on hoildays i was working this out. This is what plants i am going to grow and in what bed.

In this bed i have 4 punkin and 4 cucumber plants (plus some more out the front as well). Hopefully this year ill save some seeds from theses plants

Bed 4 Tomatoes

In bed 4 i have tomatoes soon going to have 18 tomatoes in there growing.

Plus this is my frist year of growing tomatoes from seeds:)

Bed 3 Carrots lettuce

In bed 3 i have carrots and lettuce may queen.

hopefully ill be able to save seeds from them this time around:)

Bed 2 Sweetcorn and Sunflower

in this bed i have sweet corn to the right and on the left it is sunflower which has not long been planted out Sowing seeds so they should be up soon. ill update it again when the sunflower are up :)

i have more of this stuff in another garden which the Rhubarb needs moving

I found the little fella while i was weeding that garden

He is a Green Tree Frog.

Yesterday i sowed some more tomato seeds mini roma, capsuium, kale ,eggplant ,

garden log and Experiment

Things Done:
Added goats bedding to compost bin and turned it and started an experiment.

Seeds Sown:
1x Tray of Tomato Yellow Roma
1x Tray of Tomato Orange Surprise
1x Tray of Tomato Mellow Yellow
1x Tray of Tree Lucerne
And then 1 jiffy pot for each type of seeds (for experiment will do results by comparing them every week after they germinated)

Added chook poo to compost bin and turned it and prepared bed 4 for tomatoes
