October Egg Count

In October my 3 Isa brown hens laid 64 eggs between all 3 of them and back in January they laid 72 so i wounder how many they will lay in November and December.

Rain

Rain.
this time last year at Newcastle you remember how that big ship got stuck at nobbies beach it has been one year this June long weekend.
it has rained here for 4 days so since the start of June we have had 47mm and today (Wednesday the 4th of June) we have had 44mms. where our creek is flowing. is alot of water.

Todays Harvest

Today i harvested 5 big carrots and 2 eggs

How I make my seed raising mix.

How I make my seed raising mix.

Items needed:

1x Coir Peat Brick (I used 2)

For 1 brick you use 4.5L of rain water since I used 2 bricks I used 9L.

Some sulfate of Potash and some potting mix.

Stuff i used.

Instructions:

-Put the Coir Peat brick(s) in a wheel barrow then add 4.5L of good water (if using two bricks use 9L)

-Leave it there for 10-15 minutes

-then add some sulfate of potash and

some potting mix or dry sand.

-Mix it all together.

Then it is ready to use. I store the stuff I

don’t use all at once in my potting mix containers.

Coir peat brick when it doubled it size.

Garden Update: Bed 1,3,4,5,6 and 7



Bed 1
Over summer i have been growing Pumkins in this bed. i am leaving them and letting the plants break down in there, on sunday i moved a bit of them over so i could plant Garlic. This is my frist year for planting garlic.

Bed 3:

bed 3 has broccil, brussel spourt and soon to be a cauilflower plant. The brussel spourt seedlings are from bunning warehouse and the broccil and cauilflowers are the ones i grew my self. I sown the broccil seeds straight out into the garden but have had the cauilflower seeds growing in my greenhouse.


Brussel spourts right at the back near the Rhurbarb and Broccil at the front the broccil seed germinated one the 16th of apirl.




Bed 4:

bed 4 has carrots 1st sowing, 2nd sowing and radish and beetroot.

Bed 5 is my onion bed, the types of onions it has in is gladalan white, Cream gold,Purplette,leeks (from bunnings) and spring Onions (from bunnings)

Bed 7 has in it lettuce, silver beet and spinach.

tomatoes all different types capsuicm eggplant wormwood , parsely (thanks yeehah for seeds) and cork tree seeds.

Haverset

Today in the garden i haverseted 2 big carrots and 4 nice sized passion fruits. Tomorrow i have a lot of work to do in my gardens from weeding to planting seedlings and sowing some veggie seeds. ill keep u updated as well ill take a photo of each area before i begin and a photo of each area after i finsh.

autistic child in Australia

This website was mentioned on the Today show this morning:http://www.1000hours.com.au
They are petitioning the government to provide funding for every autistic child in Australia to get 1000 of early intervention per year for two years. Very easy to sign the petition so why not :)

Egg count for March was 49 eggs so mean the total for the year is know up to 148 at the end of march.i keep track of this is a Mircosoft excel sheet (if you want to have a look at it please just email me and ill be happy to send you a copy).
